A Unique Talent
On Good Friday of this year (2021) I attended a Youth function at “Inner City Ministries,” a organization committed to serving the Nepalese community in Hong Kong. I met a talented woman who is part of the staff there who designs these types of cakes in her spare time. I was just amazed by the level of detail that went into creating this cake in the picture as I marveled at the intricate design and wondered what kind of time it took to create something like this. The young woman told me that the entire cake is made from bean including the red flower part.
For me personally, I am always curious to know what type of skills one must acquire in order to be this creative to be able to create something so realistic, such as a piece of art, an innovative design or something that changes our lives. I probed further and ask her how did she learn to do such beautiful work. She revealed to me that she had been studying with a master for about 5 years in order to reach the skill level to create this. Nevertheless its hard to believe that this is editable, but a cake it was, and like many I had trepidation to eat this cake as it was almost too perfect and beautiful.
